Next Generation Collaboration-Based Educational Management System

Technology is rapidly transforming the world and changing the way we learn. Although education is a deep-seated discipline compared to many others, it is now gaining a new shape nurtured by the efficiency, flexibility and convenience that technology brings.

Today’s forms of learning are not limited to a single model or just classroom activities. To meet the evolved learning needs of the new generation, there is an ongoing pursuit of creating collaborative and personalized learning environments.

Why Sebit V-Cloud?

In-class learning alone does not provide enough for students and teachers. Education Planning and Management System:

Education planning is comprised of planning and managing the school or district curriculum.

This component provides institutions an environment to manage the order as well as the start and end times of instruction from a single platform.

Using this component, institutions can:

  • Communicate through the platform to and from teachers and students
  • Create, organize and manage tests via the event calendar for students and teachers
    • o Set time and location for events and add detailed explanations
    • o Create and run multiple events
  • Manage institutional operations
    • Perform user addition, removal, and update operations in a school as needed
    • Create different user roles within the system to address specific access needs
    • View snapshot reports on statistical data (ie: number of users, active usage, number of logins, time on task etc.)
    • Re-create or merge district schools as needed

Rich Content and Tests:

This component of Sebit V-Cloud includes the schools’ curriculum-aligned course content and tests. This component:

  • Encourages students by extending the learning process beyond the textbook
  • Helps students achieve deep conceptual learning using the interactive modules within the course content
  • Creates a virtual laboratory environment in which students can repeat the experiments multiple times, as needed
  • Provides a content production environment where teacher-created content materials can be included
  • Creates teacher specific lesson plans incorporating materials from a district/school on-line digital content library
  • Provides a cadre of assessment items and exercises, in digital format, incorporating different question types compatible with the standards and tests constructed by those items

With this component, the teachers can:

  • Have all necessary applications to develop tests and items
  • Create a new test using the items from the pool
  • Assign tests to students
  • Assign content as homework

Assessment Item, Test and Content Production System:

This is where teachers create instructional content and assessment items, submit the items for review and approval by the institution and then add them to the institution’s on-line content and item library, allowing access for all teachers.

Using this component, teachers can:

  • Create content and test items, in the desired question format, using ready-to-use templates
    • Create institution and/or teacher specific content and test/quizzes
    • Align the items they create with learning objectives and sub-objectives
  • Map items in the shareable content library
  • Make items searchable by topic, course, chapter, section, objective and sub-objective
  • Access all items from one single point
  • Always have the latest standards with the easy update process
  • Carry out projects with their students and develop additional content materials together in the system enhancing the learning process

ePortfolio:

With ePortfolio, academic and social achievements of a student are collected at one place.

  • Students are evaluated not only in terms of their academic achievement but also their social skills and extracurricular activities contributing to a holistic evaluation.
    • Digitally stores details of the student’s educational and extra-curricular life
    • Enables each student to be known comprehensively by the teacher and school
    • Focuses on student’s academic reports of assignments, tests and homework along with their involvement in groups and clubs
    • Assists with teacher planning of student’s entire personal learning process focusing on learning methods suitable for a student’s most effective learning styles
      • Provides interest and experience data that will help with the choice of profession, guiding the student to the right subject area
  • ePortfolio provides a comprehensive reflection about a student to their school, parents and to the students themselves, becoming a decisive element in a student’s evaluation.

Educational Social Features:

With all the educational social features Sebit V-Cloud provides, teachers and students gain access to a variety of tools for sharing, polling, discussions, and surveys.

This component:

  • Improves students’ soft skills such as communication, problem solving, seeing things from a different perspective, and critical thinking
  • Enables students to socialize on the same platform with their teachers
    • Makes the teaching and learning processes more fun by extending them beyond the traditional methods
    • Enables social learning and peer learning methodologies bringing in communication and socializing, encouraging students to be actively involved in the lesson.

Measurement and Evaluation, and Closing the Gaps:

To be able to make correct decisions about students and guide them properly, a holistic evaluation of student performance and the evaluation of how deep the student has learned a concept by analyzing all of its dimensions is necessary.

  • Provides the opportunity to conduct a digital test, in addition to the print tests conducted in the classroom. Using this component, teachers can:
    • Assign tests to cover any particular topic or standard, objective or sub-objective, and administer it electronically
    • Create and administer tests based on different question types
    • Evaluate the results in terms of student, class or grade level
  • Utilizes a smart tracking system that identifies the objectives students are not very strong at allowing the teacher to send personalized assignments/homework providing students a chance to close their instructional gaps
  • Analyze homework results in terms of student, class or grade level making homework an integral part of the overall student performance reports
  • Supports various grading schemes allowing classroom written exam grades to be included, providing a complete evaluation of a student’s progress.

Professional Development for Teachers:

Next generation teachers who are compatible with their students in every sense, will need to be productive, creative, guiding, and open to communication and interaction.

The Professional Development component:

    • Access to the most Recent Courses assigned to them as well as their past courses with past due dates
    • Review topics with the offline course materials, join interactive question-answer activities in online sessions, use the downloadable supplementary materials, and join the discussions, surveys, or information sharing sessions with peers.

    • Assign courses to teachers using the course management section
